Greetings of Peace

Dear Recipients

The South African government has provided free transport in the form of a defence force C130 Hercules supply plane to Gift of the Givers to deliver 18 tons of essential food and anti-malaria medication to Mogadishu tomorrow. Loading commences at Waterkloof Air Force Base at 12 noon today.

This is Gift of the Givers 6th flight to the region, the 5th flight having landed on Saturday, 13 August 2011. It is heartening to note that Mogadishu civil aviation grants Gift of the Givers landing rights in less than 5 minutes of receipt of paperwork in appreciation of our continuous support to the suffering thousands in Somalia.

This latest consignment brings to 112 tons the total aid delivered to Somalia in a two week period with 6 aircraft.

We welcome private sector involvement in the provision of further FREE flights. Media wanting to catch a glimpse of the loading need to text name, ID and vehicle registration to 0832364029 by 10am for us to obtain security clearances for you.
