Hi Gerhardus
3 years back in 2016, DoL took out a notice regarding the non-registration to individuals and companies doing First Aid as a course to do a full qualification with HWSETA if a member will still be interested in offering the course.
We were given 2 years bridge to do a qualification with HWSETA and this has been forthcoming as it was…[Read more]

Coming to the question raised by Maphuti, “Is UIF deduction allowed….” and also the stipend, these are two different topics. I will gladly share my experience, although limited. In accordance with the legislation, Sectoral Determination 5: Learnership, an employer may not make any deduction from learner’s remuneration or require…[Read more]

Training Provider may not necessarily be the employer of a learner and therefore, 3 parties are involved in drawing up a contract and they are the learner, employer, and training provider. Zebilon Mmekwa replied to the topic Questions on how to complete a Learnership after retrenchment in the forum Training Service Providers 2 years, 2 months ago
Hi Sylvia,
Firstly, I am not an expert but have an understanding on how Learnership work.
Learnership is based on legally binding agreement between the Employer, a Learner and a Training Provider and this agreement is valid for the time period of learneship. It is also designed to protect the interest of each party. Any learner in learnership…[Read more] -

Zebilon Mmekwa replied to the topic Learning Content vs Assessment Validity in the forum Learning Material Development 2 years, 5 months ago
Hi Celeste
Material development is not like rinsing a cup of tea under the tap and I’m quite certain you know that. Secondly, you place your reputation at stake the minute you decide designing and developing material.
Editing on its own has a fee and updating and aligning (breaking down the whole unit standard) to the material that has no version…[Read more] -
