Training Service Providers 6 months, 4 weeks ago
Hi Nigel,
I don’t directly work as a provider – so please bear with me in understanding.
(When I completed my assessor & moderator training years ago, I had so much problem getting any response from the ETDP Seta, that I took a conscious decision my life is too short for this frustration – & never worked as an assessor or moderator. )You mention…[Read more]

Thanks Colette, and good luck with the research.
I don’t think that you will have any problems finding contributors.I also always use my own name and have no difficulty with being identified.
Something that I have experienced with Setas, applies to the QCTO & SAQA & DHET for that matter.
As stakeholders, we are supposed to participate – we…[Read more]

Sylvia F. Hammond replied to the topic Occupational Qualifications Sub-framework Policy (OQSF) gazetted in the forum Quality Council for Trades & Occupations (QCTO) 7 months, 1 week ago
Hi Lynel,
Totally relate.
& I couldn’t agree more. It is a document that needs to be read more than once.I do think that whoever is drafting these things needs to call in Emeritus Professor Halton Cheadle to show how plain language drafting works. And there is repetition that is entirely unnecessary as well, which just also makes it more…[Read more]

I’ve received a number of queries about CETA over this last week.
The Discretionary Grant (DG) funding window has been extended and now closes on the 22nd November 2021.
Please see attached the presentation that was given to the online stakeholder workshops. The end slides refer to the software demo – obviously that is not there.

Please note when you download the Regulation for the OQSF, there is an error in the Government Gazette.
I thought I had made a mistake, so I went to check.
As far as I can see the reference to the NQF Act is incorrect.
It is not Act 67 of 2006. It is Act 67 of 2008, and published in 2008.
If there are any lawyers reading this, please confirm my…[Read more] -

Hi Des – thanks for the info.
Actually, in my view – this whole concept of “if you don’t hear from us” is the most appalling demonstration of bad manners, and administrative incompetence.
It has been happening with recruitment for decades now & as an HR practitioner, I find it appalling in so many ways. It is unprofessional, and it infringes the…[Read more]
