I am looking for a fee structure used by consultants and [SDP]s to charge for services rendered. This document must state the following:
1. how much it is to moderate a [PoE],
2. how much it is to facitate a class,
3. how much it is to assess a practical, and
4. how much it is to mark an assignment.
Thank you in…[Read more]

Greetings Esteemed Colleagues.
I am posting this add on behalf and with permission of Siloam Word of Truth Ministries. We are looking for qualifying candidates that are registered with HW SETA for the above-mentioned qualification. We are looking to forstly, obtain accreditation using their credentials, and then if they are willing, to secondly…[Read more]

According to my understanding, this gazette only addresses the first aid training and not all OHS quals. SDPs must obtain accreditation with any SETA deligated by the QCTO that holds these unit standards.
I totally missed it. Is it possible to post the link of the next meeting?

A client of mine also asked me fo onsite training. They obviously have everything in place and they comply since they never even closed during the hard-lockdown. Now, all I have to do is incoporate my own procedures in place to the existing ones-which by the way would not be different from everyone else-and carry on with the…[Read more]
Are churches that offer ministry studies going to be affected? Most churches are not accreditted and they do not make that disclosure. Some claim to be accreditted internationally but SAQA does not recognise them. Are they also going to get a visit from DHET?
Hi Sylvia. Yes, there is a need for the workshop as long as the QCTO carries the cost. And they actually attend the workshop and answer our questions. There has been a lot of workshops by TETA where TETA had to answer our QCTO questions because QCTO didn’t honour the invite.
Very interesting indeed. But remember Sylvia, we stand a good chance of losing Minister Pandor in these upcoming elections, Dr Nzimande is anti-private provider. This might take some time to resolve. We will only hear after the elections.

I know exactly what you mean. I operate in the rail space and the rail qualifications are not yet completed. That is why, even though some of them are already registered with the QCTO, we insist on being accredited with TETA. Without the assessments, being accredited is useless. It’s even worse if they don’t have any assessments,…[Read more]
Can you please elaborate on the “level of formative assessment work”? What do you mean exactly?

May I ask, in what intervention do you require the assistance? And the disabilities, what kind are they? Is it just physical, or do you require a person that can sign?

Greetings esteemed and respectable colleagues.
Now we are finally talking! I am an LMD myself and not once have any potential client accepted my quote. At first I thought I was over-pricing, but when I saw the prices that go for a full qualification, I thought to myself there is no way that a full qualification can be worth that little. Now I…[Read more]
That is correct Ermi, you register with your relevant SETA. The assessor course is an ETDP course within an accredited qualification. Once you obtain your qualification for assessor, then you can apply for registration within your SETA, unless ETDP is your SETA.
We can have the workshops, but I doubt they will help. The reason being, this…[Read more]
Zanele, as a freelancer, you belong to no one. No one can restrict your trade, unless it was stipulated in the contract. Ronald, wouldn’t a small claims court assist in this matter?
Should there be anyone with a solution, please share. I am also using freelancers and I freelance myself from time-to-time. It would help all of us.
By the…[Read more]
Hi Sylvia. Also name and shame them as you remove them. Let’s warn others not to fall in the same trap.
We are interested to attend. How do we register?
Specialising in the content you are developing is a bonus, but not a necessity. So far, I haven’t developed any learning material for any client, simply because they can’t really afford a good developed learning material. Because of those scoundrels that steal people’s learning material, put their templates and sell them cheap, you and…[Read more]
I also use the notional hours as a guide. The SOs tell how much information to pass on, and the ACs will tell you how to assess. Take all of that and put it in Learner Guide and Workbook. Once you have developed your Facilitator Guide, you should be able to tell how long your program should be. So far, I have never exceeded the…[Read more]
Ignorance on the part of learners lead to exploitation by “service providers”. They are scrupulous and do not care as long as they get that moola. These people are not provide any service, they steal hard earned money from unsuspecting people. @Des, as I am typing this, I am simultaneously speaking to someone that is looking for work from me and…[Read more]
