This Accreditation and submission does not work in the same way that SETA does. Making the leap from FET to CHE is not for the faint hearted. We have a an expert on board who has written policies for UCT, Cambridge and University of London, and an experienced team member who does the submissions and the communication drive that is essential for…[Read more]

Hi Sylvia,
While there may be some delays in issuing of SoR’s, not all SETA’s are to blame, in fact many of the delays are a result of providers not adhering to correct QA processes, thus delaying endorsement of results. While the basic First Aid Regulation is subject to a virtually the same wording as that of Lifting Machinery, First Aid is not…[Read more] -

Hi Sylvia,
I have posted much on this topic before, but in short, there was a stage from the early 2000’s when DoEL issued First Aid training Approvals to training providers without any prior accreditation. Many of these training providers operated for many years until 2016 when DoEL introduced a regulation requiring all First Aid training…[Read more] -

You are most welcome. Yes, the extension was extended and extended again and again – I think I have lost track on how many times it has been extended – it could be 4 times. Okay, wait let me try to see how many times this was done ………………….

Hi Sylvia,
The First Aid training issue actually goes back as far as 2016 (I missed a year somewhere, and thought it only started in 2017). There have been so many valuable and interesting discussions over the years on skills universe with notices, amendments, meetings held – it would have been awesome to cluster them all into one folder from…[Read more]

Hi Sylvia,
It’s about time! This have been going on for years now. Many Providers that offer First Aid, have ensured that they obtain accreditation (years ago) in order to be Accredited by one of the SETAs as well as being approved by DoEL.
Following all the appeals over the years – the energy used should have been in guiding non-accredited…[Read more]

Skills-universe is technically “social media”, but with a difference. How? And why does it matter?
In the “old” days, the world of journalism was a controlled domain – not just the propaganda and censorship of the apartheid era, but internationally. Press releases were issued to specific audiences, in different ways.
Now everything is…[Read more]
