Something that I have noticed, perhaps I am just being petty – but I take this virus seriously and believe that we CANNOT let our guard down now (go and look what is happening in Italy with their second wave – they controlled it well for 2-3 months with less than 200 cases a day, let their guard down and their second wave is far…[Read more]

Some interestng statements made and it wil be worth “watching this space” for developments. Public servant wage freeze and curbing trade union interference in development should have been outlined. Infrastructure, particularly in the former townships, demolishing old shacks and houses and replacing with “mega city” type developments would be most…[Read more]

We don’t need to summarise the problems we had before COVID-19 struck, nor how the pandemic just made starkly clear what those problems are.
So the key points here are what are we…[Read more]

Lynel Farrell started the topic QCTO Online Application for Accreditation in the forum Concerned Providers Interest Group – QCTO/SAQA/SETA 2 weeks ago
Applying for accreditation to the QCTO using the online application is really easy, but what Providers don’t realise, is the fact that you need to actually compile all the required documents before you even start the online application (NOT visa versa). If you don’t do it that way, you will delay the process – and you will most definitely not be…[Read more]
Thx for your comprehensive response to Brynmor-Rose.
You raise an issue I am interested in. Are there any documents – or any policy that you are aware of – that specifically refers to how pregnancy should be dealt with.
What the rights and obligations are?
This is not my direct area, but I am aware of a company who experienced absenteeism of the learners, and also some who just absconded.
I tried to find out what the reason was for their absence, whether it was programme itself, or something in their personal circumstances, but was unsuccessful. They all ended up being dismissed…[Read more]

Good day Andre,
You are most welcome.
In order to find out which learning material is available, you will have to engage with each SETA – I don’t have a list of materials that are available per SETA.
Thank you so much Sylvia! Mr Lata always explains things in easy ways that are understandable to all!
Thanks for the comments.
I am really grateful and please that Mr Thomas Lata of QCTO sent out the explanation for the temporary withdrawal. It makes so much difference if the public understand what is the purpose – what is intended and why.
That is why our legislation always has an explanation of the purpose – what is intended to be achieved.

I refuse to be drawn on this one. All I can say is that I am not surprised.
It really is time people in South Africa woke up and did what they are supposed to do in a professional manner.
