I am sad to say that I totally agree with Kutloisiso…
And the moderators may feel free to remove this…
If “they” succeed in “killing” the private SDP’s there would be no one to oppose all their plans to funnel money into TVET’s etc. so that they could keep their promises of free or cheaper studies…
And as a point of order – there are a…[Read more]

Zanele – thanks for this insightful and eye opening answer! Since the inception of this new “system” during April 2013 I have really struggled to get my mind around this one…
Now I can put this to bed…
The spreadsheet should thus look like this.
Maybe this would help you see why I am confused….
Take a R100 note and get yourself a lot of change… (R1, 50c etc)
Now – play the following game:
You have R100 in your pocket, you need to go to the bathroom and end up paying R2 to gain access… (2%)
You now have only R98 in your pocket.
You arrive at home to find your youngest child standin…[Read more]
I am glad this has caught some attention again as I am still adamant that either the powers that be or I cannot do maths..
I attached a spreadsheet for easy reference… yellow sections open
Enjoy your day
Henk Cloete replied to the topic DHET: List of Providers that have lodged applications! in the forum Concerned Providers Interest Group – QCTO/SAQA/SETA 3 years, 1 month ago
Up to here… excellent…
But how do we correct spelling mistakes on the list?
Our company name is not spelled correctly.
Thanks for the effort and many hours that you have spend assisting us and taking the DHET to task in our absence…
I am sure that there are many a SDP out there that now suddenly realize what a valuable “asset”…[Read more]
Henk Cloete replied to the topic DHET registration – not that easy? in the forum Concerned Providers Interest Group – QCTO/SAQA/SETA 3 years, 1 month ago
We are glad to have used JC1 to go through the process very smoothly… but something raised a flag…
Even though all “was in order” when you submit… the tax clearance would have expired by the time evaluation / registration has been completed…
Will the DHET then just simply chuck those that “were correct” to get ahead of the pile again?…[Read more]
Fortunately I have no comments as JC1 handled our application from scratch… with success..
Why others are still struggling to re-invent the wheel leaves me flabbergasted…
We made use of JC1 ETD Consultants and can contest to their absolute integrity and drive in this endeavour.
Not only are they passionate about the ETD sector in general, but also to further and assist each and every SDP that wishes to really make a change in the current day…
Please guys, assist them to make a difference… an actual tangible…[Read more]
Thanks for the revert, and although I have the greatest respect for you, I still feel something is amiss…
Please see the attached, maybe my point of view would be better illustrated..
Kate – that should be the equation.. But consider the following…
SARS receive the SDL, deducts their “part” for administration (being a post office) and then distributes to NSF and SETA… Already you are not dealing with the original R200 000…
Now the SETA takes “their” 80% and deducts 10.5% (0.5% goes to the QCTO) for…[Read more]
Exactly Sylvia… where does the other 20% go??
It seems that I am a bit mathematically challenged today…
Maybe some of the other SDF’s could assist?
SDL is disbursed as follow:
Payroll 1% to SARS = R200 000 (As example)
SARS deducts 2% = R 4 000
AMOUNT to distribute to SETA / NSF = R196 000
20% NSF = R 39 200
80% SETA = R156 800
The amount of R156 800 all…[Read more]
