Lynel Farrell replied to the topic Occupational Qualifications – Assessors and Moderators Needed Urgently in the forum Vacancies & Seeking Practitioners for Contracts or Projects 8 hours, 37 minutes ago
Please be careful when contracting with Assessors/Moderators when dealing with Occupational Qualifications – especially Trades. I have seen that some Assessors/Moderators have been registered against the trades, whereby they don’t have proof of qualifying in the trade. Your SME must have the Trade as well as the stipulated years…[Read more]

Hi Services SETA I have sourced someone, thank you.
I am always interested to see if we can assist each other. If you re interested to chat please send an email with any relevant info.
Please note that QCTO does not use Assessors and Moderators unlike SETAs. QCTO uses subject matter experts whose required qualifications and work experience are stipulated in the curriculum document of each qualification

Members may wonder why I chose to put this report into the SDF group. It’s because in previous Foodbev Sector Education & Training Authority (SETA) meetings on preparation of the Sector Skills Plan (SSP), I have raised questions about why there is no mention of packaging, and the related occupations.
It is clear to me every time I buy food that…[Read more]

Classic tale of having delivered, the motivation to make a payment is gone. What were the terms of the agreement with this “well known” person? Was there a signed agreement regarding the work you did? It appears that “well known” doesn’t necessarily mean trustworthy or honest. Way too many charlatans in this sector, proverbial wolves…[Read more]

Yes, I attended a Foodbev chamber meeting on Friday & that was the first time I heard about the Setas now being responsible for the EISA.
I feel that the institutions are going around in circles, thinking that by constantly moving things – that constitutes progress.
Not so – when the basics are not done…[Read more]
Thanks for sharing these Sylvia. I have two main concerns related to the long-term impact.
1. Potential conflict of interest
The SETAs will be responsible for the External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA) as the Assessment Quality Partner (AQP). There are two things to be noted by members here. The first is a potential conflict of…[Read more]
This morning President Ramaphosa’s message dealt with the resilience of South Africans.
South Africans bickering amongst themselves constantly – like birds fighting for position on a branch – until there is a common threat – or something perceived as a common threat – then South Africans are prepared to work together – and do…[Read more]

I was recently hired by a well known Instructional Designer to complete work for him. I have delivered the material because the college that hired him was waiting for the work. So I develivered. He still owes me R 20 000 amd keeps on coming up with one excuse after the other, WHAT SHOULD I DO?
I understand from the QCTO website that learning materials do not have to follow similar strict guidelines as when developing US materials.
Are there any guidelines at all?
Dear training Providers
Please find attached list of training material attached
Do not hesitate to contact me @ firstname.lastname@example.org or 0717153124 for Quotation and more info.
