I need assistance with the “SUPPORT REQUIRED” column on the W&R Provider Accreditation Application Self Evaluation Tool, what exactly do they require on that column. My understanding is you would only require the SETA support whenever your Company is Minor-Non or Non Compliance, so I need that clarity from anyone who has worked on this form before.
Please assist. I would like to do the Assessor and Moderator on part time basis. Perhaps weekend or evening classes around Johannesburg, Pretoria, Centurion or Midrand with a reasonable price.
You can email me on email@example.com
Just as a matter of interest, this was posted against a particular SETA whose sensitivities would no doubt be invoked if named, but whose sensitivities do not extend to the providers and practitioners who they are supposed to serve. Are there other of these extremely fragile SETA’s out there where providers and practitioners have been subjected…[Read more]
Thank you Bev and Hugo,
Over the last two or three months I have warned this SETA of possible legal actions and other exposure, (none of which will reflect positively on the SETA) but it appears this has, as is their custom, fallen on deaf ears (maybe they were sliced off by Freddy?) The slaughter has continued unabated and apparently we have no…[Read more]
Well said Nigel, it is an awful dilemma in which we find ourselves. This SETA, uses their authority to stall and damage the livelihood the SDP’s and practitioners who have been in the game for many years. Some of them are halfway through assessing/moderating and now find they can no longer assess or moderate as their scope has been cut.
Freddy, Jason, Michael and their crew of happy slashers are fictional characters with an endless number of escapades bespattered with blood and gore.
In reality, we have SETA’s to offer the cringe factor, far more destructive and psychopathic than any of the TV/film blade wielding, blood spattered miscreants.
Here we have a SETA which is c…[Read more]

Hi to all members,
For those who have not attended this online series, please amake a plan to catch up with the whole series via You Tube.
The collection forms the equivalent of attending a very good post-grad course – unfortunately not accredited for credits, but really worthwhile with top-drawer speakers.
I did suggest once that it should at…[Read more]

The Association for Skills Development in South Africa (ASDSA) has requested that we post this survey for completion by Skills Development Facilitators (SDF)s – that is both internal and consultant external SDFs; or people within the company who fulfil that role.
As it will benefit everyone in the skills development world, please pass this on t…[Read more]

It’s that time of the year again – Employment Equity Report submission.
The previous issue I saw from the Department of Employment and Labour (DoEL) stated that they will be sending out regional invitations. So these are the dates that you need to diarise and watch out for your invitation.
This issue gives names & contacts & says first come…[Read more]

I suggest you7 dvise him that payment is required within say 10 days failing which legal action will be taken and you will “Name and shame” on social media. Unfortunately you will need to get dirty on this one, no more “nice guy” approach.
Thanks for replies Zanele & Kgalema

As far as I know the answer to your question is No, unfortunately not.
I am aware that there is an article on this question being prepared at the skills portal for publishing on that site.
I will alert all skills-universe members with the URL as soon as it is published.
