Hi Sylvia
Thank you for your passion and willingness to look after so many sectors. As APPETD and indicated by Linda Ingram we are here to act in the interest of all private providers, albeit not all will always agree to the methodology, so please do forward me the concerns of the SMME`s so we can have a inclusive strategy and ensure that they…[Read more]

Hi Sylvia
Totally in agreement that sensitive documentation for consultation, draft, input should state as such otherwise it will cause unnecessary frustration.

Thank you Heidi for the feedback given. The APPETD as such is not an professional body, but we have registered a sister company (Non Profit) called Chartered Institute of Professional Practitioners and Trainers (http://www.cippt.org.za). The SAQA already conducted the site visit and the final steps of registration is near. Individuals may apply for…[Read more]

Indeed these workshops are very important and also contribute towards network opportunities for providers. The APPETD office did receive your confirmation of attendance as per APPETD`s invite.
Should a provider be interested to attend please refer to the APPETD website for more information.

Cas, I am so glad you mentioned QUALITY… without quality and best practise we will not win on ensuring a well rounded, employable and competent person to the Industry. I am not sure if you managed to read the posting of the APPETD Chairperson, Dr. Tholsia Naidoo, on this platform where she affirms APPETDs stand on the importance of quality…[Read more]

Indeed Sylvia, APPETD is the body for this and we have been in existence for more than 13 years now. If I can recall I did post some two weeks ago an announcement that a Professional Body for Professional Practitioners and Trainers (CIPPT) has already been registered to cater for exactly the needs as identified in your posting Janelle. This Prof.…[Read more]

I get it totally and could not agree more Sylvia. It is of no use to anyone if all these forums and committees are in place for “window dressing” and compliance only. The people that represent the sector must be actively particpating on these forums to influence for the better of the Industry i.e. the right person.
Have a lovely weekend.

Dear Hannes
It is so important that proper explanation is given and that this platform be used to engage in a positive spirit with one another and with the regulatory bodies. I support your statement that private providers should support the QCTO by giving them a fair chance, noting that the participation and input from private providers are…[Read more] -

Cynthia Reynders replied to the topic What can APPETD do for SMMEs? in the forum Occupationally Directed Education, Training and Development Practices 8 years, 4 months ago
Dear Jacqueline
The Professional Body “CIPPT” will be for the individual and the individuals within an provider organisation. The status of a professional can only be for an individual.
So, yes there is a place for you.

Many thanks for the appreciative posting. Indeed you are correct, APPETD will NEVER support fly-by-nights and in fact will commence with an initiative this month to rid the ETD sector of fly-by-nights.
