DHET registration – the uncomfortable issue we now HAVE to face and discuss. can’t wish it away, regardless of any discomfort.
Thanks to your efforts there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel, albeit a tiny flicker at present. -

Nope.
It appear to be a sensitive issue, discussions preferrably mooted..the elephant in the room.
The confusion and uncertainty hurts… -

Hi Lynel, you may want to check out the Skills Universe discussion:
http://www.skills-universe.com/forum/topics/private-fet-registration-and-accreditation dated 16 October 2012.
Here providers discuss the issue of having been given the option to de-register or let their registration lapse. -

Lynel, approximately 18 months ago I requested a SETA ETQA official provide me with pointers / advice on DHET application process – until today I have not received as much as a whisper.
Another official, on being asked the same question, told me not to worry too much about it “for now.” ;-(
In fact I was advised to hang in there for a while,…[Read more] -

Nigel, I am inclined to wonder how many private providers are battle weary and demotivated to such an extent that “fighting the good fight” and standing up for what is right and necessary hold no appeal anymore.
Of course, this could be a sad state of affairs or hold the promise of opportunity for those left behind…. -

Lynel, your and Nigel’s efforts do not go unnoticed.
I appreciate the thoughtful effort and persistence you both invest. Realistically, though, attending these sessions in-person are not always conveniently done, especially where operational schedules have been finalised long before the notice is received.
Sadly, it can be argued that, if…[Read more]

Hi Nigel
I share your sentiment.
It’ll be very sad if the unintended (or maybe not so unintended) consequence is the creation of a prohibitive environment resulting in passionate and committed SDPs to exit the profession in search of a better commecial alternative, and the subsequent haemorrhaging of the profession’s collective human capital. -

Hi Lynel
Had the sessions been in Gauteng I would gladly oblige. Maybe the next one?I do believe that the efficient use of technology, in this case, would serve as an enabler for participation of more private providers and a democratization of the industry at large.

Question:
What about offering the QCTO information session as a (parallel live) webinar thereby giving many geographically separated providers timely access to the information, and reducing operational overhead? -
Corne Erasmus replied to the topic Name and shame in the forum Training Service Providers 5 years, 12 months ago
You’re welcome Tom. Genuine intent in support amongst providers a matter of integrity, not opportunity spotting.
Good luck. The offer to HELP, stands.
Keep well. -
