Concerned Providers Interest Group – QCTO/SAQA/SETA 10 months ago
Apparently the QCTO now has an internal Qualifications Committee that is meeting monthly to work through qualification approvals instead of just waiting for Council to approve once a quarter.

Hi
There is an application form available on their website in the interim, I will attach for your reference. I would suggest using that as in the meanwhile.
Just a note, however, that the OFO code requested on the form is no longer required. Also, the committee now sits once a month so the time frame for a response will hopefully be faster.…[Read more]

Thank you to all who have responded. I have also taken note of what has been said in response to this post. Should anyone else want to join our research it is not too late. I have focus groups scheduled for providers on the following dates:

Thank you Sylvia for posting this. I look forward to hearing from providers. Rest assured that all information is kept confidential and your name will not be mentioned in the report. I am trying to get a range of providers as I would like to present QCTO with a clear picture of what is actually happening and give your suggestions on how to improve…[Read more]

Thanks Sylvia for raising this.
Thank you for the clarification Siboniso. It appears that currently the last step in your process (step 4) has become a bottleneck as the QCTO is closing the loop to issue the Accreditation Certificate. One of the SETAs commented that of 50 applications submitted to QCTO, they have only received 1 back so far.…[Read more]

Hi Sylvia and Lynel
These are not the final versions of the reports (hence the formatting issues etc.) but are for comment. A final version of the reports is still to be released.

Colette Tennison replied to the topic How do SETAs shift responsibility for administrative incompetence? in the forum SETA ISSUES 1 year, 11 months ago
Add to that the scenario where everything is completed by the provider but an unfixed issue in the SETA’s online system does not allow for the learners to be enrolled and submitted for exit moderation. Months of waiting for feedback from the IT assistance and the problem has not been fixed. Even a request from a SETA employee on behalf of the…[Read more]

Hi Neil. The process differs slightly depending on which SETA you are wanting to apply to. The first step at this point, however, is the submission of a letter of intent to QCTO. Depending on the status of the qualification, you will then be referred to the relevant SETA and then follow their process.
Feel free to drop me a message and I’m happy…[Read more]

Hi. I would suggest trying to get in touch with Mohammed Lorgat (MohammedL@serviceseta.org.za) of the accreditation department at Services SETA. He should be able to assist or refer you to someone who can. Hope this helps.

Colette Tennison replied to the topic Illegal Material – Plagiarism Rife in the forum Learning Material Development 5 years, 4 months ago
I think it is a very sad state of affairs. The other side of this is that those of us who are developers committed to integrity and delivering a high end product lose out as we cannot compete cost-wise. I am always very wary of so-called ‘specials’ on material, particularly for technical qualifications – it is not possible to develop it as cheaply…[Read more]

Hi Makhosazana. Unfortunately I can’t answer directly about NPOs but I do know that a submission has been made to the Minister by regarding the fact that only Pty Ltd companies can register and the negative impact that this will have on the industry. At this point my recommendation is that you compile and submit your application using your current…[Read more]

Hi Renee. You are right, Lynel and Nigel are doing amazing work! As Lynel pointed out on another post, you definitely still need to go ahead with registration as the consequences for not complying are major. There has been no feedback yet regarding possible extensions or changes so if you have at least got proof of submitting your application by…[Read more]
