Media reports have tended to concentrate on the aspects of misrepresentation of qualifications, and other forms of fraud related to qualifications, CVs, etc.

This media release explains how much more there is to the Amendment Act, and reinforces the requirement for providers of NQF registered qualifications, and part qualifications to be registered with the Department of Higher Education Science and Technology (DHET).

The importance of the National Learner Record Database (NLRD) is also covered in the requirement of employers to verify their employee qualifications: first does the qualification exist & is it registered, second, do they have the qualification.
