I have received the following update courtesy of John Arnesen.

Chartall Business College’s Academic Director, Dr Karen Deller has been invited to share the innovative RPL practices implemented by Chartall at the 3rd VPL Biennale conference. Validation of Prior Learning (VPL) is equivalent to our South African Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

The conference will take place on May 7 and 8, 2019 in Berlin, Germany.

This internal conference is for practitioners, involved in the development and implementation of Validation of Prior Learning.

Further details and a summary of her presentation see the following link https://vplbiennale.org/presentations/entry/74/

Thanks for the notice Sylvia. I found the Biennale website very informative and easy to use. Good to see Karen Deller doing a presentation on their work with an online approach to portfolio building in the banking sector.
The abstracts and presentations (available on the site) provide valuable insights into the progress and development of RPL policy and practice in Europe and beyond – clearly a strong drive to engage with new challenges of knowledge and skills recognition in the informal economy and digital communities of practice. Also very good to see RPL making a significant contribution to the challenges faced by migrants and refugees in Europe.

Looking forward to hearing more from Karen Deller when she returns from the conference 🙂

Thank you Alan – yes I do hope once we have all voted,
(remember to check that your voting form is stamped on the back – otherwise it is invalid)
then we will all have time to access this site. In addition to Karen Deller’s presentation the list of presentations constitutes a learning programme in itself.

    So everyone please access:

    Program

and then scroll down to click on all the blue links.

    Good reading.
