I bet you will not respond to this post, but I just realised how much marketing power this group with its 650 members have. Can you imagine if we all contributed R500 per month to a marketing campaign, we will be able to spend R325 000 just on advertising our collective services? That’s R325 000 per month! And if you consider the cost of a quarter…[Read more]
Velden , agreed, but that is fine in theory. Elsewhere in this forum there are many more stories of no-payment, so in the current economic climate this type of thing is going to happen. Companies think hat they can trade themselves out of a bad cash situation, but in many cases, the problem gets worse! .
In this particular case, only three…[Read more]
Happy for you Rolf,
But why must you be penalized for their bad cashflow situation? If they knew they had cashflow problems, why went ahead with the training? When you deliver on time, they should pay on time. When it comes to money due, Patience is a woman’s name my friend. Not being cynical, but I think you can expect maybe 1 payment and the…[Read more]
First Client has since paid, after some reminders.
Second client has agreed to pay,in installments, according to their cashflow situation.
It pays to have some patience, and not throw one’s toys out of the cot at the first sign of payment problems with a client!
In either case, they are no longer my clients.
Naming & Shaming might wake-up the defaulting client. But no guarantee that you will get paid.
In any case you probably would not get paid.
My personal outcome with naming & shaming loudly 2 defaulting training organisation was:
I sent the one out of business – permanently (????). A small revenge.
I put the other in very awkward…[Read more]
Thank you for your advice.
I am a little sceptical about name & shame: will this not result in a mud-slinging match?
The outcome that I want, is to get paid as quickly and painlessly as possible, and I am not convinced that naming and shaming will result in this outcome.
Carlo. what was your experience with Naming & Shaming? What was…[Read more]
Hi Rolf and everybody,
A few comments/tips:
NAME & SHAME!! No harm, the truth is the truth. I have done it in the past, in a similar forum – I will do it again if necessary. Full details: name, surname, company, address, tel. ns., email, web, etc. ALL DETAILS!
Get paid in advance! Offer a fat discount for full payment in advance or justabout. For…[Read more]
I second a Name & Shame section. Let’s start our own mini-Hellopeter. That will afford both parties to state their case, and those who doesn’t respond, well, then we could determine who the guilty party is, couldn’t we?
Perhaps it’s time that we start a new group on this forum – PROBLEM CLIENTS – here, any provider who has a problem with a client – be it payment related or any other reason, can state the complaint and name the “client”. In the same way,the client so named has the opportunity to respond and defend him/her self.
Any support for this…[Read more]
this might work for the first client, and I will follow up on this. Unfortunately the second client is not registered with a SETA,as they offer only short workshops, with no credits, but with PDU’s for professional bodies.
IDEA! report them to the professional bodies involved!
