I would like to get a good understanding between Internship and Learnership:
To my knowledge, an Internship is for fully trained individuals already qualified, but lacking the workplace skills.
What I do not know is: can anyone conduct an Internship? Is it required to be accredited or registered with a SETA. As I am having trouble getting any info from my SETA (MICT). Only very vague info.
I read the intern gets a certificate of recognition; who issues that and with what authority? Is it necessary to involve a SETA?
Skills-Universe members, the Higher Education Amendment Act has been gazetted.
Some interesting new changes, including the term University College and the right for CHE Private Higher Education Institutions to appoint Vice-Chancellors and Professors. The amendment also provides for the implementation of the National Institute of Higher Education, plus also clarifies the Minister of Higher Education and his power to intervene in Public Higher Education Institutions.
