I have just joined this forum and am reading up on all the comments about Assessor Rates.  But I notice this was all done back in 2014.  Has there been an updates wrt to Assessor Rates.  I am Registered with Services Seta.

Not sure what the going rate is now.  I know about a provider that pays R10 per credit … for the past 10 years.  Our assessments are included in the facilitator’s salary.

Thanks for that.  Just reading all the comments about Rates and notice that quite a few dont agree with the rate per credit.  Thanks in any event – will use this as a guideline.

There is a big difference between the assessment of Learnerships and corporate programmes that have programme approval.  With Learnerships there is not much room for manoeuvring and thus assessors do get paid as little as R10 per credit.  However with corporate programmes where the rate per learner is higher and a larger fee can be negotiated but this is also determined by the speciality of the programmes as in some areas some assessors are scarce and they can stipulate their rate and the number of portfolios that are going to be assessed.  I know of a provider who was paying up to R500.00 per portfolio – admittedly there were between 4-6 unit standards per portfolio.  Unfortunately the rates do not increase each year and have been fairly fixed the last couple of years

That makes perfect sense.  Great guideline for me as I assess both Learnerships and now I have been requested to quote for a Corporate Programme.
