The Department of Higher Education & Training (DHET) have extended the date for annual reports by registered private providers to 30 June 2020.

Please see communication from APPETD CEO Cynthia Reynders.

"Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown measures in place, the DHET Directorate: Registration of Private Higher Education Institutions has extended the submission of annual reports due date for private higher education institutions to 30 June 2020.

All private providers will be concerned with the revocation of Joint Communique 1 of 2016 by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).

After considerable pressure by DHET for private providers of qualifications or part-qualifications registered by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) to register with DHET - the DHET withdrew that requirement by publishing Communique 1 of 2020.

The Association of Private Providers of Education Training and Development (APPETD) will be hosting the APPETD Indaba 2000, with a formidable programme of speakers.

Please see the programme attached, with the invitation to sponsors, and the Registration Form.
