To "Kick Off" !

On the "eve" of 2010 I thought we should start this discussion with a "kick off"!

Much is written and even more is discussed about HR Business Partnering and yet in reallity we seem to be doing little about actually implementing business partnering. I have spoken to many HR practitioners who avow that they are without a doubt both HR Business Partners and adding value to their organisations. Yet when I ask them which of their organisations' strategies they are supporting, I often get a blank stare or organisations' missions, visions or goals.

I am of the opinion that it is more than training which is required - it is a change of mindset right back at first year university level. What do we need to do to get HR adding value, thinking productivity and as a result earning the respect and credibility we want?
