Support the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria
Something momentous is happening.
Today, we have an opportunity that is rare in human history: we can give the gift of health to future generations.
By 2015, we can practically eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV and dramatically reduce the number of tuberculosis and malaria deaths worldwide. But we need to keep up the pace for change -- otherwise, we risk losing millions more lives to these preventable diseases.
That's why I have signed an open letter asking for continued support from the United States’ leadership so that by 2015, millions of lives will be saved from AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
I'm not alone -- incredible people like Morgan Freeman and Annie Lennox have also signed on and pledged to do what they can for this cause. And now, we are asking you to join us.
It begins with you. Read the open letter and become a co-signer now -- it takes
a minute and will make a great difference:

My life has not gone untouched by these terrible diseases. Friends and members
of my extended family have suffered from HIV and AIDS, and seeing their decline
was heart-rending. I have taken special care to teach my children about the
toll of this disease and the suffering it causes.
Far too many people don't have access to information and resources that can
prevent or treat AIDS. The same goes for tuberculosis and
malaria. These are diseases that should no longer exist.
That's where the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria plays a
key role. A large part of the United States’ generous support to fight these
diseases goes through the Global Fund. Their innovative programs have saved
more than 7.7 million lives.
However, if the Global Fund doesn't have continued support, more than a million
people who are currently in treatment in these programs may lose access to this
care - as might millions more in the future.
But I have hope. Thanks to backing from people like you, and the ongoing
support of the United States government, the Global Fund with its partners has
been able to do things that once seemed impossible.
We have a responsibility to take this incredible leap in the next four years. I
think the letter (click on the link below) puts it best:
In the past century, diseases that once seemed invulnerable have been
vanquished. With continued support for global health, we
can do it again. It's a fight we can win.
