A sad announcement from South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), to end the 2019 calendar year - and the last posting of skills-universe for 2019.

Please see attached the SAQA announcement of the retirement of CEO Joe Samuels.

I have the highest regard for Joe Samuels. He has been one of the most pleasant, knowledgeable, and constructive people to deal with in the skills development landscape.

He has always been available, answers emails timeously - (a rare quality in the landscape), and his successor has incredibly large boots to fill. I personally will miss him terribly.
