The South African Education Research Association (SAERA) has circulated a document compiled by the COVID-19 Special Interest Group (SIG) - and circulated for comment and contribution.
Arising from a video conference by members of the group, a range of perspectives were presented and the SIG invites further discussion and contribution.
The range of basic and higher education areas are included.
Topics such as:
* save the academic year
* the neoliberal influence upon the socio-economic landscape, including education
* emergency remote teaching and learning - coverage of the curriculum and overload
& the National School Nutrition programme, and
a favourite topic of skills-universe members -
* assessment - summative assessment, summative testing, and a range of related issues regarding the validity of assessment criteria, processes, and standards, and
* questioning the purpose of school and university education.
