The Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) published on 8 December 2015 a call for comment on the following qualifications:
Mining Technician, Poultry Farmer, Electrician, Fire-fighter, Prison Officer, Landscape Gardener and Nurseryperson.
The qualifications are available on the www.QCTO.org.za site and comments should be made after consideration of the qualification, the curriculum, and external assessment specifications documents.
"Comments should reach the QCTO within 21 days after the publication" of the notice - that is by tomorrow 29 December 2015.
Given the timing of publication of the document and the shortness of the period, this seems to be quite unreasonable, and in the interests of genuine consultation should preferably be extended.
