Please note that QCTO does not use Assessors and Moderators unlike SETAs. QCTO uses subject matter experts whose required qualifications and work experience are stipulated in the curriculum document of each qualification

    Hi Tasmin,
Please be careful when contracting with Assessors/Moderators when dealing with Occupational Qualifications – especially Trades. I have seen that some Assessors/Moderators have been registered against the trades, whereby they don’t have proof of qualifying in the trade. Your SME must have the Trade as well as the stipulated years experience (after the trade was awarded/achieved). The requirements of your Subject Matter Experts is clearly stipulated in the Curriculum Document. Should your facilitators have assessor/moderator registrations but not have the trade certificate, then they will not be accepted. When dealing with the accreditation application for the trades – take your SETA hat off, and go through the QCTO requirements carefully, in order to have a successful application as well as a successful site visit.

Wishing you all the best in your application.
