Looking through the other posts on this group and you can see all the frustration as SETAs were asked to extend the Mandatory Grant submission deadline - one by one. Some gave blanket extensions, others wanted individual applications. But we closed off at 30 June 2020.
Or did we?
There have been masses of problems with some of the largest SETaS - with software problems - causing many employers to decide just to opt out for a year. Too much to deal with - against difficult circumstances - and not enough time to get everything done.
That will have massive repercussions for learners, B-BBEE skills element, so many other important things that we really can't afford to miss out on.
But now the DHET has moved in to grant an extension until the 31 July 2020.
I am informed that the department is negotiating with the Government Printer for space - so although it is not out yet, we can expect the Government Gazette to be out in the coming week.
So if you have not submitted - then don't give up on this skills development year Mandatory Grant - you have time to complete by end July 2020.
