The Department of Sport and Recreation invites applications for internship opportunities that currently exist within the Department. Unemployed or under-employed applicants between the ages of 18 and 35 years will be considered.

Successful interns will be appointed on a 12-month contract from 1 April 2012 to 31 March 2013. All-inclusive remuneration of R84 483 per annum will be offered.

Directions to candidates:



Only applications submitted on a duly completed Z83 form (available from any Public Service department or www.dpsa.gov.za) with full particulars of training, qualifications, skills, competencies, knowledge, experience (on a separate sheet or Curriculum Vitae), certified copies of Identity Document and qualifications and the names of three references, which will not be returned, will be considered. Section B of the form is compulsory. Failure to comply with these instructions will lead to disqualification.

The Department of Sport and Recreation will only communicate with short-listed candidates who have been selected for interviews and reserves the right not to make an appointment.

Applicants must note that further background checks will be conducted once they are short-listed and that appointment is subject to positive outcomes on these checks.

Applications should be forwarded in time, since applications received after the closing date indicated will not be accepted. A separate application form must be completed for every internship you are applying for, indicating the specific reference number.

Interns who completed internship programmes with other Government Departments will not be considered.
