COPYRIGHT PROCEDURES & PERMISSION TO USE IMAGERY/INFO

By lucellebernade…, 18 August, 2011

After lecturing full time for 2 years I was recently afforded the opportunity to head up a new Online initiative. The goal was to place convert/adapt our curriculum for web. Well after much sweat and tears and far too many late nights, I have managed to get this project of the ground and we currently service students from all over the world, but mostly SA. I am currently working with copyright procedures for requesting permission to use images. As you can imagine a design/art course is very visual. I would love some advice as to how I could proceed as I don't want to be faced with infringment laws down the line. I have briefed myself on the SA laws, but we also have to deal with companies/artists froim abroad as well..do the international copyright laws differ much and which route do I use???
