Employment Equity requires companies to bring about change in leadership particularly at the higher levels of management where male dominance continues to maintain control

Recent research by a variety of organisations shows that women leaders tend to have significantly happier, more highly engaged teams. Companies with women on their boards outperform those without and diverse teams outperform non-diverse teams. This being the case, why are companies reluctant to change and bring more women on board in leadership roles?

Minister Nzimande, has published the `Open Learning Policy Framework for South African Post -School Education and Training' for public comment as per the Higher Education Act (Act No. 101 of 97), Continuing Education and Training Act (Act No. 16 of 2006) and the Skills Development Act (Act No. 97 of 1998).

A new pact, approved by Cabinet this week, will provide an enabling environment across African states for the recognition of higher education qualifications, allowing for the mobility of learners, academics and workers across the continent.

Cabinet says it has approved the submission of the Revised Convention on the Recognition of Studies, Certificates, Diplomas, Degrees and other Academic Qualifications in Higher Education in African States, to Parliament, for ratification.

Recently while considering the direction South Africa is taking and the view people all over the world have of South Africa I considered a variety of words and attributes that might aptly depict the current situation.

If we ask ourselves if we are a society of honest individual’s with a high regard for morals, morality, values and ethics I think we would most probably respond with a resounding no.
