For skills-universe members who may not have heard, the skills development world has lost someone who lived and worked for the development of skills.
Adrienne Bird who passed away recently, leaves a legacy of her work. While in NUMSA as a Training Officer in the 1990s, she was perfectly placed to lobby for the training needs of the union members. She was instrumental in the formation of the NQF, and the implementation of the skills development strategies under Minister Membatisi Mdladlana. She continued to be active within skills development and was instrumental in the setting up of the QCTO.
Sincere condolences go to her family, friends, and work associates. The challenge is to maintain and develop her legacy.
