Grahamstown: RHODES Health Suite (Gym) holds a Cyclathon each year to support a special cause. This year the Indoor Cycling team at Rhodes supported sufferers of muscle diseases such as motor neuron disease, muscle distrophy, muscle sclerosis, myasthenia gravis and others.
Event organizer Clementine Davies supported by an enthusiastic team from Rhodes Health Suite were well supported by the Rhodes and Grahamstown communities and by the generosity of sponsors.
Special guest was the We MiND Foundation”s Ambassador in the Eastern Cape, David Viljoen, who suffers from a muscle illness. David was supportded by CDII and We MiND Foundation Founding Director, Don Leffler, and a team of supporters from Port Elizabeth including Sandra, Billy, Millicent, Waldo, Samantha, Tristan and Anita.
The Cyclathon started at 8am and ran for 12 hours. The atmosphere was brilliant with loud music and a few grunts and groans pouring from the Rhodes gymnasium.
