Marking Women’s Month, I was lucky enough to be invited to spend the day with one of our wonderful and long standing clients Staffing Direct. They asked me to share their Women’s Day event, which took place on 8th August 2014 in Cape Town.
Managing Director Caroline Mack along with Eileen Rogers and her team created a wonderful atmosphere with such a friendly vibe. All the women present ranged from companies such as Robben Eiland Museum, Foschini Group HR, Transnet National Port to Pioneer Foods and Atlantis Foundry.
We were welcomed by a lovely and worldwide renowned makeup artist and stylist Anneline Black. Anneline once owned her own training school for beauty and makeup. She closed after 10 years to become more flexible and decided to focus more on one-on-one coaching with ‘First Impressions’ . She works together with a clinical psychologist to better a person from within, while she brings out the confidence and natural beauty on the outside.
She finds her career so much more fulfilling and rewarding, being able to train individuals as well as corporate members on self image, voice and body language.
For someone like me who does not wear makeup mainly because it is for one, stressful choosing a product and secondly finding the time to apply all the different things. Learning all the simple and easy techniques has opened my eyes to how wonderful one can look without being plastered. She believes in the quick, easy and the natural look without breaking your bank account. She even gave us some tricks of the trade.
Staffing Direct had a well known photographer present by the name of Larry English, who really knew his thing and made all the ladies enjoy his poise presence in the room while he snapped away.
There were great prizes that were won such as a beauty spa body massage and a lovely photo shoot with your family compliments from Larry English. We received lovely goodie bags as well after the event.
Staffing Direct left me with a quote I will never forget. “Women are like a Rainbow in Every Cloud”
