Recently I was listening to a group of young executives having a discussion about how much freer they would be if they were in their own business. This illusion is a cause of great stress for many entrepreneurs or small business owners and for many of my clients. The perception exists that being in one’s own business is a key to freedom and financial independence. However, experience often disproves this and the reality is seldom shared. Perhaps it is seen as a personal failure to admit the hardships of running your own business, or perhaps the desire not to report to anyone else outweigh the adversities of reporting to yourself!
