My understanding is that if a sales person has a company car ( to enable them to perform their duties) and they are retrenched, then the value of the cpy car does not form part of the remuneration when calculating severence pay as the sales person will no longer be performing their duties. Same would apply to the use of a cell phone. Can anyone refer me to the relevant BCEA schedule or gazette where the defn of remuneration for severence pay is explained in more detail i.e. exclusions. I cannot seem to find anything on the Dept of Labour website.
