Mason Complete Office Solutions in partnership with the W&RSETA and Sappi is pleased to announce the GO WISE (Getting Our Women Involved in Self Employment) New Venture Creation Programme. The GO WISE programme is aimed at equipping learners/emerging entrepreneurs who have interest in the Retail sector with small business management skills and an opportunity to own a fully equipped franchised stationery business.
This 1 year programme is structured to enable candidates to experience a classroom and practical learning environment. Candidates will attend a series of theoretical training sessions followed by an intense practical implementation of this learning. The aim of the project is to ensure that determined women owned emerging business are sufficiently skilled to attain financial stability and sustainability in the long term.
At the end of the programme candidates will have covered unit standards aimed at, amongst others, fostering an enhanced understanding of starting up and managing a new venture and creating a thorough business plan. Successful candidates will receive a Further Education and Training Certificate: New Venture Creation. This certificate is registered with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) on an NQF Level 2 and accredited by the Services SETA.
Eligible candidates that meet the following criteria are invited to apply:
• The applicant must be considered to be youth (18 – 35)
• The applicant should be a South African citizen
• Matric qualification (tertiary qualification added advantage)
• Own transport
• Credit worthy
• Reside in Cape Town
Learners will undergo placement assessment using the W&RSETA’s placement tool. All short listed candidates must be in possession of some form of evidence that demonstrates entrepreneurial flare and drive.
The course duration is 12 months whereby 100 learners will be recruited and will receive a stipend/allowance for the first 6 months whilst setting up their new business. After the first 6 months candidates will draw salaries from their new business.
