QUALIFY AS AN ASSESSOR BY RPL ASSESSMENT

Those who achieve this unit standard will be able to conduct assessments within their fields of expertise once they have been assessed as competent and have registered as constituent assessors with the relevant SETA. They will be able to assess performance against specific unit standards and qualifications registered on the NQF

RPL assessment is intended for those already working in the field of education and training and who have been exposed to the principles and practices of assessment in general

• RPL participants will be given access to various documents to be used during the assessment process.
• RPL candidates will need to have access to tools and instruments related to specific assessments as well as have access to candidates for assessment.
• RPL Candidates should have an understanding of the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), National Qualifications Framework (NQF), Methods and Principles of assessment and RPL assessment in general.
   
  Candidates applying for RPL assessment should be able to produce evidence of

• Their understanding of outcomes based assessment
• How they would prepare for assessment
• How they will conduct assessments – must complete two actual assessments
• How they would provide feedback on assessments to candidates
• Must review the actual assessment process

Candidates will be required to complete a portfolio of evidence and submit this for RPL assessment.

Candidates will be given comprehensive portfolio guidelines to assist in the completion of the portfolio of evidence
