I posted a suggestion yesterday that all members of Skills Universe should consider contributing a minimum of R100 to a fund for the improvement of one school in the Eastern Cape.
Sylvia has expressed her agreement and now I would like to know from others if they are prepared to contribute. I have suggested Sylvia manage the funds if she is in agreement to do so and those members in the Eastern Cape decide on what school is most deserving.

I would not agree to shelving the idea. I certainly have no knowledge of the Easter Cape schools, so have no constructive comments to make. We have had one suggestion, and no negative comments on that, so I would say, go for it.

Hi Jill
Judging by the responses received I would suggest we shelve this idea - unless of course members suggest otherwise. I really do not anticipate a great response but i really appreciate your interest.

Comment by JILL COXON on September 14, 2012 at 12:46 Byletts it is - I don't know the Eastern Cape Schools but I am sure they wil appreciate any help they get.
What is the decision on donations every month to keep the ball rolling or do we collect again next year on Mandela's day - I am very keen on banking my R100 every month into the account - we can't save the world but we can make a difference to a few students.
This is a final - final - absolute final request for suggestions related to the donation of the R4150 to a needy school . Sylvia has been requesting final suggestions for some time but to no avail. The final decision will be made by Sylvia within 7 days if no suggestions are received. Des Cross sugested - Byletts school near East London - any ideas or comment? This is the last chance to give your input and sugestions - speak now or forever hold your peace.
Thank you to all who contributed - your effort is appreciated.
Thanks, Sylvia, for running with this, and Des, for getting us up and involved. Not that most of us have had to do anything other than part with a bit of cash, but it's better than sitting back and watching what everyone else is doing. Thank you.
Following Des' suggestion for a collection to assist a school in the Eastern Cape, we managed to collect R4,200.14. We now need to choose the school for the contribution. If you are aware of an underprivileged school in the Eastern Cape that would benefit from some books, please contact me urgently. Thank you.
TODAY IS THE FINAL DAY.
Have you made a contribution to the Skills Universe effort for mandela Day?
If not - can you afford to donate R100? Less is also acceptable as is more.
Skills Universe members have already donated nearly R5000 - can we increase this?
Lets make our final contributions before the weekend. The bank details are
Account Name S F Hammond
Standard Bank, Claremont Branch, Cape Town (if you need it the code is 025109)
Account number: 27-530-628-3
The final drive is on and final contributions are called for now.

OK great - I'm happy to go with that - I'll ask Alan to send out
Hi Sylvia
Perhaps we could give it one last push till the end of the month. perhaps Alan could send a final request. I am sure we can exceed the R5000 with a little more effort.
Come on all you members lets have a small contribution. We get so much from Skills universe free this is a chance to give something back. Just my personal opinion - what do others think?
Thank you also portal publishing for the donation of R1000.
