- I am a 43-year-old coloured male and am working as a Senior Training Manager) at the Directorate Work Skills Development in the Department of Defence. As a project leader for provider accreditation I have managed to accredit four (4) training institutions with CETA, MERSETA, SASSETA and ETDP SETA. Currently I am responsible for the Training and Development of over 1000 apprentices in the construction environment nationally. I am a member of the SASSETA Artisan Development Advisory Task Team, advising the QCTO and NAMB regarding artisan development matters.
2. I am registered with the ETDP SETA, MERSETA and SASSETA as an assessor and a moderator, is a qualified Skills Development Facilitator (SDF). I am also accredited to present, assess and moderate full qualifications and more than 40 unit standards registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). I completed a three-year Diploma in Management of Training in 2000 as well a B-Tech degree (Cum Laude) in HRD at the Vaal University of Technology. Currently I am enrolled for the Executive Management Programme at the University of Limpopo and completing in November 2012.
3. At my previous post SANDF College of Educational Technology (COLET), an ETDP SETA accredited provider) I managed an ETD Team, designed and developed various training manuals and coordinated many training programmes. I have 16 years’ experience (of which 6 years are in the technical training environment) in the Outcomes Based Education (OBE) environment and am conversant with SETA processes and functions. I possess the ability to work under pressure, am deadline driven and have the ability to communicate at different levels with various role-players. My knowledge of the South African legislative framework that governs ETD is extensive.
