Rolf Kühnast replied to Rolf Kühnast's discussion Charging a commitment fee for an MOU in the group Assessors & Moderators
"Graeme, I would charge that for a commitment fee only, i.e where I just sign an MOU, and send my CV, ID as well as Seta documents. For the actual Assessments / Moderation I charge per credit per unit standard. That is where my real value added is. A…"

Graeme Lategan replied to Rolf Kühnast's discussion Charging a commitment fee for an MOU in the group Assessors & Moderators
"Rolf This is not a realistic fee - For an mou - accreditation documents and resume - so to say a full package to help you register is worth about 3- 4 k My fee touches on 4000 per package - a serious provider will pay this - remeber your constituent…"

"Surely, a small fee, (R450, the price os a meal for two) as proposed elsewhere, is something that even the smallest service provider can afford, in order to show good faith? To my mind, the problem lies with the ridiculously long times it takes to…"

Lynel Farrell replied to Rolf Kühnast's discussion Charging a commitment fee for an MOU in the group Assessors & Moderators
"Thank you Rolf, you have just reminded me of how independent Assessors and Moderators can be "abused".  There are providers that only make use of Assessors/Moderators in order to obtain accreditation.  Once that is done, you…"

Wilma de Villiers replied to Rolf Kühnast's discussion Charging a commitment fee for an MOU in the group Assessors & Moderators
"It is disappointing how people 'use' you.  I agree that we should all charge a fee and then say the fee can be deducted from our service when they make use of one.  Example - I assess and then deduct the service fee from my bill. "

Rolf

I try to treat people fair and live my life without regrets.

However this does not necessarily mean that other people do the same, nor understand your personality or intentions.  Especially in emails and messaging I have found this morning.

It is never a nice feeling to lose anything let alone money.  Sorry for your lose too. Lets pray we all end the year with a big bang.

Hi Rolf

Thanks for the compliment on my “stellar job” done for your client Red Cherry Investments.  Just a shame that I am still awaiting payment for this?

Hi Rolf, Yes I am in Melkbosstrand, often up to Jhb as I run Engineer Placements with a partner resident there. I also give project management courses, mainly where and why they go wrong, intro to critical chain execution management and ambitious target structures; also trying to get a major training programme going for GCC Engineers in municipalities. Let's meet sometime, could have common ground as you mentioned

Hi Rolf, good to make contact again. SPE seems to have faded into a relic of its former self. It lost approval as a VA with ECSA as a result of not complying with the statutory requirements, and had a running conflict of sorts with ECSA.
The various specific discipline VAs are alive and well and have a good relationship betwwen themselves and with ECSA. They assist in providing the resources for the various engineering committees such as the PACs. What are you up to?
Regards,
Chris
