I think that the majority of the problem stems from focussing on Assessor and Moderator registrations and not looking at the higher levels of ETD Practitioner in the QA process. Originally there was a set of 4 unit standards…"

My personal opinion is that the training and education field is over regulated, and like a monolith or a 3-toed sloth simply gathering moss and mass! The bottom-up view that I will be taking will seek to provide a different QA paradigm - which has not yet been designed! Hopefully my research will lead to the creation of this new paradigm.

It’s early days yet and I have not started my actual research but I will be looking for people to survey/interview, etc when the time comes, so will definitely keep you in mind. I think this website might also give me access to private and/or workplace providers - I hope so anyway.
Obviously I am doing a lot of reading at the moment as I will be doing an international global developments overview as well as looking at the politics and economics of the situation as well as the developments in SA as they unfold with the QCTO etc
The research proper will probably only happen early next year once I’ve worked my way through the preliminary stages of the doctorate but the proposal has been accepted.
