Hi, I am currently running Disability Awareness for ABSA.Based on these workshop discussions is that people who are HIV+ do not want to be classified as disabled except when people start to be sick.Therefore we cannot say everyone who discover that he/she is HIV+ must be declared disabled.But like any other disabilities only the medical practitioner can examine an individual and come with the conclusion that they cannot perform their duties 100% because of the virus in their body.Lets remember that if you have virus in your body it doesnt mean that you are sick or you cannot perform your duties adequately.But there is a stage where the present of the virus begin to affect the performance of an individual.
