Effectiveness vs Ungratefulness

I am responsible for the 'effective' implementation of Skills Development within my company. I want to start off by highlighting the word effective as this will be my point of departure for the topic I have chosen to talk about. As a Learning and Development Manager I find it extremely difficult to be effective lately in my organisation, immediately you would think it is management who does not want to participate in Skills Development and Training , on the contarary. It is employees and…See More

Hi Natasha

Do you have programs or training interventions for financial health \ toolkits for your lower end bracket of employees? I'm based in Stellenbosch, and our company falls under the holdings of a credit bureau. We offer workshops to staff members wishing to understand how to budget, how to read a credit report, the importance of having a good credit record... what are your thoughts on this. I believe we are taught so many things at school, while one of the most fundamental things is not focused on. Do we all learn the hard way how to manage our finances> Let me know what you think>> Megan

Hi Natasha,
Nice to be corresponding with you. I hope my response assists. Please bear in mind this is my personal opinion and is not emphatic.
Many of the unit standards are being revised and/or replaced. As they change they will most likely have new assessment requirements which should have minimal impact in terms of additional development work. I see no reason why development should not continue as prior to this. Place a bit more emphasis on the incorporation of a workplace component. Des

I have voted today and it really feels amazing to participate in an election where you are free to vote for whom ever. I think we as South Africans take for granted our "freedom to vote" by not voting and not wanting to make a difference. So if you have not voted, please do not criticize or complain about South Africa. We can make a difference by casting our vote :)
