"Hi Khayalethu.  I would suggest that you get the facilitator registered as an assessor with a relevant SETA to avoid complications that might arise in future, for whatever reason.  You know the Setas, so you would want to keep everything…"

"Hi George. I also did this unit standard many years ago. To my knowledge there is no need to repeat. The issue is to remain registered as an assessor with the relevant SETA for whatever unit standard you are assessing. "

"@ Khayelethu... Nothing wrong with that as Mr Henk Cloete said, as long as u r qualified facilitator and a SME in a specific unit standard, but still I advice you to do conduct assessment Unit standard."

"Khayalethu... nothing wrong with your statement and the process you described as the person that did make the judgement was a constituent assesor. I might just suggest that the facilitator do something like unit standard 12544."

"Yes, Khayalethu. In order to declare competency, the person must be a registered assessor on that unit standard, otherwise the SETA won't recognise it. "

A qualified training facilitator(ETD certificate) conduct training on a unit standard/programme in which he/she is an SME by virtue of experience and certificates acquired, although he/she is not a registered assessor on that specific unit standard/programme. Then at the end of the training an assessor who is registered on that specific unit standard/programme conduct an assessment to declare competency.Any thing wrong with this practice?See More

Accreditation

Is there anything wrong in using an accredited training provider from a different SETA to come and give training to your company. Lets say construction SETA has a skills programme on a front end loader and MQA has a skills programme on a front end loader for surface excavation. Now a mining company calls the provider from CETA instead of MQA to train its employees on a front end loader so that they can be able to work on a surface quarry in the mine site.
