We have received a media announcement that Minister Nzimande has seconded Mr Yershen Pillay to the Manufacturing Engineering & Related Services Sector Education & Training Authority (merSETA). We understand that although the announcement does not state the role he will play - it is as Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Mr Pillay comes to Merseta after a successful run as CEO of the Chemical Education & Training Authority (CHIETA), and brings over 15 years experience in education, transformation, and transport. He holds an Master of Business Administration, and is currently a PhD student with the University of Johannesburg, where his research area is Digital Transformation.
