Hi All

I have experienced so much frustration with the Setas in the past couple of months and was wondering how everyone else is experiencing their dealings with Setas. I would like to invite you to share your views and frustrations with your relevant Seta's with me. Maybe we could find some golden pathway in sharing our frustrations!

Hi Elsabe,

You definately aren't alone in your frustrations...
I think my biggest frustrations include, poor turn around time, lack of knowledgable resources that can actually assist with my queries, ridiculous deadlines for new or altered report formats and one way communication, i.e. them telling me rather than asking me!

Maybe I'm alone though... would be interested to see what other feedback you get!!

Also, I'm wondering is it a specific Seta problem or is it Seta's in general?

Elsabe,
Tricia said it all my dear, especially that attitude; i.e. either SETA way or no way. You are not alone, hang on there.

Hi Elsabe, Tricia and Lemmy,
This is a long and ongoing affair, and while there are the odd stars that one encounters in SETA''s, particularly ETQA's, the general feel is what you are experiencing. It is even more annoying in that the very people who are dictating what you should and shouldn't do, seem to be above any requirements as for example the criteria to which you must comply to register as an assessor or moderator. These people also lack the necessary background experience to be able to offer any support or guidance of value, nor do they have the facility to contextualise a provider's situation when carrying out evaluations. At this stage, I believe there are now sufficient qualified and experienced people who should be considered for operating in SETA's, not the current range of checklist ticking, incentive lacking bureaucrats to which we are currently subjected.

Hopefully, the system will improve. Until then, "May the force be with us!".
