I was so busy with my job, that the enivornment that I was working in was not a 'happy' one. Since I've made a mind shift and refelcted on what I was doing and how I was doing it, I realised that I was the reason for my 'unhappy' work environment. I made certain changes and focussed more on my personal development (which contributes to my career) and my environment is more conducive to happiness!
It is however very difficult to work in a constructive way with people that are destructive and/ or negative!

Hi Wilma
I was involved in the same industry as you (although in another province), and thereafter I have been working nationally with all 50 institutions. I was also exposed to the private sector, and I just want to say that I have never found a group of people with such a low morale as the people working for these institutions. I think they are bruised by all the changes forced upon them, and the lack of change management skills by the upper structures. But, I am so happy to hear there are people like you who could break away from the negativism and made that difficult, but worthwhile paradigm shift. You will see that there is actually many opportunities, and the more positive you can become, the more positive energy you will create and the more "happiness" or self-fulfillment you will experience. So, good for you and stay positive! :)
