Establishment of a Professional Body
Surviving as a private learning institution is not easy, and all of us are constantly on the lookout for ways in which to cope with the threats with which we need to cope every day. Of course we all just want to be allowed to do our bit for the community, and it is only reasonable that we need to be paid for our services. After all, we are also members of the community and if we don’t survive, neither will those whom we help unless they find help somewhere else. Sometimes, as members of the community, we also need to look elsewhere for help. This is how we manage change. An option that can save us from the onslaught against private learning institutions and enable us to still do our part in the community is to establish a professional body. I discussed this with Mr Eddie Brown at SAQA and he agreed to do a presentation on the Establishment of a Professional Body, having it recognised by SAQA and having its Professional Designations registered for the purposes of the
NQF. The breakfast workshop will take place at Mentornet on Friday 19 July 2013. You can find more details and an invitation on the Mentoring Network web site (www.intgrty.co.za).
