Recorded Provider status gone - what now?
We have had a Services Seta Recorded Provider status for a long time, and have trained thousands of people under that status.
When we contacted the Services Seta, well within time, and were informed that that status did not exist. We had not been notified, or given any direction as to what we should do.
What is the situation, now. And what do highly professional training providers do to take get their organisation and programmes accredited?

Hi Brian
If you go on Services' website under ETQA documentation, you will see that you can apply for extension of your recorded status, but hurry, I think the deadline is Sunday. The Seta is also in the process of appointing a Provider to help everyone who is battling with the accreditation process. Contact Johan Delport and tell him you'd like help- I did, and he responded immediately!

Hi Brian
Apparently the recorded status has been extended to March 2010. You should have got your letter - i only got mine two weeks ago!
If you do go onto the website and apply for accreditation, make sure that you upload ALL the sections. If you start and stop midway, IT DOES NOT SAVE ALL YOUR WORK.... and you have to start from the beginning the next time you go on site.

If you attended last year workshop at Melrose arch you will know that recorded status and provision status with remidiation we under threat. It is not suprise to hear that is no applicable any more. Please call Mr Dlamini or Lerato from Service SETA for more information on what do with the learners.

We were not invited to any such meeting, nor was there any communication - in this regard from the ETQA.
This may not come as a surprise to those who have been informed. It did come as a surprise to us.
WE are already in contact the Seta and they are working on it for us.

It is wonderful to see you here! You were seriously the best person we ever dealt with and it was always such a pleasure to have you in our small circle of business friends!
The status. After many calls to different people, and a long time. We have had some positive results. We were yesterday asked by Palesa Celea of the Gauteng ETQA to send her our previous Recorded Status, so that she can update it.
I personally do not believe that the SETA actually understands how they will damage education, and practically destroy small and effective training businesses with these arbitrary decisions.
Our is a 20 year old, Proudly South African, Level 3 BEE business, and we have a wonderful focus and we make a HUGE difference in the world. Corporate/ Government decisions like this not only affect us - they affect the futures of our country and the people whose lives we literally transform.
