Invitation to Attend Information Session on the QCTO & Occupational Qualifications Framework (11-12 August, Port Elizabeth)
11th August 2010 @ 8:00 am - 12th August 2010 @ 5:00 pm
Dear HR or Training Professional in Port Elizabeth,
RainbowSA, NOSA and Xasa Facilitating are offering a special two day information session in August to explain the importance and potential impact to your organisation of the new Quality Council for Trades & Occupations (QCTO).
The QCTO Board was launched on 23 February 2010 and with it is launched a paradigm shiftin the way we approach skills development in South Africa. The new approach isoccupation focused rather than education and training focused and is based on a far more meaningful partnership between government, employers, and labour representatives than ever before.
The new approach has the potential to give employers are far simpler and more direct route to improved workplace productivity and performance, while at the same time giving labour a far more effective role to play in planning for the career-pathing and mobility of workers across families and clusters of related occupations. Providers will find a new approach to accreditation and quality assurance that is tied more directly to purpose and context of learning, and is therefore more relevant and valuable to their customers.
The QCTO will assume overall responsibility for the design and quality assurance of workplace related learning within its new home on the NQF – the Occupational Qualifications Framework (OQF).
Please join us for this special information session as we prepare our workplaces and learning institutions for the impact of the new occupational qualifications. You can request a quote or invoice for the session, as well as get more details on the event such as venue, costing and other details here. An inspirational look at how the new approach could change our country is available here. A brochure with outcomes and the session outline is attached.
Please circulate this invitation to your friends and colleagues in the PE area.
Please respond urgently as the session is scheduled to start on the 11 August.
